There have been reports that the RBI will release 200 rupees notes after June with new security features. The central bank has taken a decision about this during a meeting last month. This has been reported by different news websites. RBI had also started field trials for plastic 10 Rupees notes as they would last longer than cotton substrate based banknotes. There have been other reports that new Rs 1,000 note with enhanced security features will also be released. But the RBI had no plans to introduce new Rs 1,000 notes initially.
