Latest Stamps Under the Maltese Flora Series

Three stamps were issued under the Maltese Flora series that began on 27 June 2014. More sets of three were issued in 2015.The new stamps feature orchids. The Mediterranean fan-lipped orchid is shown on the 0.26 stamp which blooms in late January. The yellow bee orchid is featured on the 0.42 stamp and the small-flowered tongue orchid is depicted on the 1.25. These two flowers bloom in March and April.
Photographs of flowers depicted on the stamps are taken by Guido Bonett. The stamps were printed by Printex Ltd by offset in panes of 10. An extra image of the blooming flowers is shown in the selvage of each pane.
