The 550th anniversary of the University Istropolitana in Bratislava is celebrated on 1 million 2017 circulating ringed-bimetallic commemorative €2 Slovakian coins in February.

The obverse features a teacher and two students standing near Universitas Istropolitana in Bratislava. A medallion of the founder, King Matthias Corvinus along with the year of inauguration 1467 is also inscribed. Other inscriptions include SLOVENSKO, year of issuance, 2017 UNIVERZITA, ISTROPOLITANA, MK Mint mark of the Kremnica Mint and MP, initials of designer Maria Poldaufova. The reverse features the European map design with 12 stars of the European flag that appear on both sides of the coin.
