Paraguayan Stamps Popular Among both Classic and Topical Collectors
2016-02-13 Sat
Paraguay lies between Argentina, Brazil, and Bolivia. People living here belong to the Mestizo community. Guarani and Spanish are the two official languages of Paraguay. Many dictators misgoverned this country and in 1993, a multiparty democracy was established. There has always been a demand for stamps from Paraguay. Classic stamp collectors like the older ones while topical collectors like the newer ones. Sets with a low catalogue value doesn’t always mean that they are easy to find or not in demand.
A set of 18 airmail stamps issued from 1931 to 1936 covers topics like yerbe mate (the main ingredient in a popular South American herbal tea), a war memorial for the Paraguayan War (1864-1870), palm trees, and an eagle.
