The second note in the ninth series of Swiss Franc banknotes, printed on Landqart's Durasafe® substrate, the CHF 20, will be released on 10th May 2017 and will be circulated on 17th May 2017. New $20 banknotes were officially launched by the Central Bank of Solomon Islands (CBSI) on 20th January 2017 and circulated from 23rd January. The note is the third in a series of new currency notes introduced in 2013. They will have new features, dimensions, design, increased durability and security. Awareness activities were conducted to smoothen the transition. The new notes have been introduced to improve durability and to curb counterfeiting activities.
