A Proof 2017 silver dollar coin and a gold-plated version under an annual Proof set were released celebrating the Confederation of Canada which was formed 150 years ago, in 1867.

The coins feature the map of Canada with a multi-dimensional look and a large “150” at the centre on the map. Other inscriptions include CANADA, DOLLAR, 1867–2017, the Canada 150 logo of multiple maple leaves and Canada’s national flag.

The mintage limit of the Proof .9999 fine silver dollar 23.17 grams coin is 20,000 pieces and it costs $54.95 Canadian. The annual Silver Proof set contains several coins that celebrate the same occasion.
