Chinese Panda Medals For 2017 World Money Fair in Berlin

Two Panda medals are going to be released during the World Money Fair in Berlin from 2nd to 5th February to celebrate a special exhibit of Chinese coins that were once part of the Howard Bowker Collection. Three versions including a special Panda 8-gram silver show medal are available. The obverse of the 1 ounce medal features a Berlin bear and Chinese Panda with inscriptions SINO-GERMAN FRIENDSHIP and BERLIN SPECIAL EXHIBIT. Two Chinese coins and Chinese inscriptions also appear in the design. The obverse of the 8-gram silver medal features a panda with ornamentation around it. The reverse of all the coins feature the German Parliament building, the TV tower in Berlin, the World Money Fair logo, and several English and Chinese inscriptions.The Chinese coins were struck by German Mints as China began striking more machine made coins during the late 1800s and early 1900s. Modern Chinese coins created by Yu Min and other designers will also be displayed.
The 8-gram and 1-ounce silver medals have a mintage limit of 1,000 pieces. The 1-ounce gold medal has a mintage limit of 20 pieces. The 1-ounce silver medal can be purchased for €89 and the 8-gram silver medal can be purchased for €39.
