2017 Maple Leaves Silver Coin Celebrates Canada’s 150th Birthday

A 2017 Maple Leaves Silver Coin was issued by the Royal Canadian mint to celebrate the country’s 150th anniversary. The coin is made of one-half ounce of 99.99% pure silver with frosted designs and a lined background.The reverse features a maple twig with two leaves. The Canadian penny was used for over 75 years until five years back when it was discontinued. The 2017 commemorative coin is two times the size of the original coin. Other inscriptions include 150 YEARS/ANS CANADA, 2017 and KG for the artist’s initials. The Obverse features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth, the inscription ELIZABETH II, D G REGINA, and 10 DOLLARS.
The Mintage limit of the 99.99% pure silver 15.87g coin is 35,000. Its face value is 10 dollars and can be purchased for CAD $29.95.
