The upcoming issue of Royal Mail features the ancient times of Britain. This set of eight stamps features famous ancient sites of as well as exceptional artifacts from the dawn of times.

Important archaeological discoveries take place frequently around the world which unveils the hidden past of the countries. It is interesting to learn about life and culture of the ancient times. Royal Mail’s Ancient Britain stamp issue explores the subject in detail.

Eight stamps illustrate iconic sites in Britain and some of the exceptional artifacts which have been discovered across the country. Life in Britain from 9,000 BC to 300 BC is beautifully showcased. The stamps provide an insight into how people have lived from the Stone Age, through the Bronze Age, and into the Iron Age.

Ranging from 1st class stamp to £ 1.52, these stamps depict Battersea Shield, Skara Brea Village, Orkney Islands, Scotland, Star Carr Headdress, Yorkshire, Maiden Castle Hill Fort, Dorset, Avebury Stone Circles, Wiltshire, Drumbeat Horns, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, Grime's Graves Flint Mines, Norfolk, Mold Cape, Flintshire, Wales.

Most interestingly the stamps also showcase the illustrations to show how people lived and worked at these sites and used these objects.
