Within 90 minutes after the sale of the 2016-W Winged Liberty Head gold dimes began on 15th December, 8,000 to 9,000 of them were sold out completely. For almost eight months these remaining coins were kept unsold. They were returns or coins that were not shipped because of other logistical and payment issues. They were first released for sale on 21st April. The second time around on 15th December, these coins were priced at $200. Orders were limited to one coin per household this time as opposed to 10 per household for the earlier April release. The 2016-W Winged Liberty Head .9999 fine tenth-ounce gold dime is one of three special commemorative gold coins that celebrate the 100th anniversary of three classic U.S. coins: the Winged Liberty Head dime, the Standing Liberty quarter dollar, and the Walking Liberty half dollar.
