50 years of Barbados’s independence was celebrated with the release of special commemorative banknotes designed and produced by De La Rue.

The $50 note has a bright hologram, a security thread and the country’s official 50th-anniversary logo. The Government felt it was important to celebrate this occasion in a grand way and releasing new commemorative notes fits the bill perfectly. De La Rue has been working with the Central Bank for more than 40 years.

De La Rue is a commercial banknote printer, security paper maker and provider of security products and software solutions to governments across the world.
