A Shimmering Stained-Glass Christmas

Six postal services across the world, Alderney, Brazil, Croatia, Guernsey, Jersey, and New Zealand, have issued stamps this year that portray beautiful Christmas-themed stained glass pictures. A set of 7 stamps has been issued for Alderney which features scenes from a stained glass window in St. Anne’s Church located on the island. Guernsey’s 7-stamp set includes scenes from stained glass windows in St. Stephen’s Church located at St. Peter Port.Croatia has chosen to depict the Nativity as portrayed on a stained glass window at the Zagreb Cathedral; while Brazil has issued stamps with vivid and colourful Christmas-themed pictures against a stained glass background. Jersey post has issued a set of 8 stamps which showcase the works of Henry Thomas Bosdet.
