A £5 note features Manchester United and Northern Ireland soccer star George Best! The goal of the note was to celebrate the soccer star and create a unique bit of memorabilia.

Only one million of this commemorative note was printed by the Ulster Bank and it is noteworthy that this is the first banknote in Northern Ireland to commemorate a popular sporting and the first commemorative banknote ever to be issued by Ulster Bank.

This note is unique to Northern Ireland as Northern Ireland uses different banknotes. In fact, each bank in Northern Ireland circulates its own distinct versions.The rest of the countries in United Kingdom (Northern Ireland, England, Wales and Scotland) all use the same currency.
