Phase 1 of Breast Cancer Awareness Coin-design Competition To End Soon

Just another week is remaining to complete phase 1 of U.S Mint’s Breast Cancer Awareness coin-design competition which began on 1st August. Digital portfolios were accepted with up to five samples per applicant showcasing the ability to convey complex themes symbolically. The design for the 2010 commemorative “American Veterans Disabled for Life” is the best example which is simple yet distinct depicting permanent disability due to military service.Phase 2 of the competition will have 20 participants who will be notified on 14th November. Each artist would then have to submit one proposed coin designs by 31st January. One-dimensional renderings and three-dimensional models would be preferred.
The winner will receive $10,000, and his or her design will be used on three 2018 coins.
