Pogue V Auction to be Held in March 2017

Part V of the Stack’s Bowers auctions has been officially announced, the highlight being D. Brent Pogue Collection. The collection has extremely rare coins from the 1970s that have been collected over a period of many years and most of them have not been offered in an auction since more than 10 years. Each coin is the finest of its kind or is among the top ones.The auction will be conducted with Sotheby’s at the Carriage House of the Evergreen Museum and Library on North Charles Street in Baltimore, Maryland on 31st March 2017. Pogue coins will also be displayed at the popular The Whitman Coins & Collectibles Expo.
The auction will begin with half cents from 1800 to 1850s including the finest 1802/0 rarities, along with Choice and Gem dates and varieties of the early 19th century. The finest known 1811, an Ultra Gem with a Gem Mickley restrike of the same date will also be offered at the event followed by Proof-only rarities from the 1830s.
Many rare and highly graded Copper coins, half dimes and silver dollars will be offered at this grand event. Consignments are welcome.
