The Chalukya Dynasty was a powerful Indian royal dynasty that ruled large parts of central India between the 6th and the 12th century C.E.

The Kalyani Chalukyas ended the rule of Rashtrakutas and came to power in the Deccan.

Jayasimha II Jagadekamalla (1015-1045 AD) was an important ruler of Kalyani rulers. He issued a Gold pagoda which weighs around 3.66g. It is Punch Marked type and uniface which has nine punches. It has five lions, a temple and three Kannada legends and two punches of” Sri” in Kannada. The reverse has imprints of obverse symbols.

This Chalukyan gold piece with a broad flan probably indicates a presentation issue or commemorative issue. This type of extremely rare coin has not been studied before. Get your hands on this coin and enhance your knowledge!
