The Royal Canadian Mint had issued a new silver coin in August named 2016 Canada’s Vast Prairies $200 for $200 Fine Silver Coin which is the fourth release belonging to the Landscapes of the North series. The coins would be sold for a legal tender face value of $200. The mintage limit of this matte proof 62.69 grams 99.99% pure silver coin is 25,000.

The 360-degree reverse celebrates Canada’s prairies by including flora and fauna majorly found in the region. Other inscriptions include CANADA, 200 DOLLARS, 2016 and the artist Normandin’s initials. The obverse features the common portrait of Queen Elizabeth along with the inscriptions ELIZABETH II and D G REGINA.

The coin has an ordering limit of 2-coin per household. The next coin in this series would be released in October 2016.
