Innovia Films to Supply Polymer Substrate for Banknotes Around the World

United Kingdom officially opened a £40 million polymer banknote production in Wigton in early September. As per official reports, Innovia Films would not only supply the polymer required to the Bank of England but also produce the plastic substrate for other central banks around the world.The finished polymer material from Wigton is transported to the De La Rue plant in Essex for printing.
The £5 Winston Churchill note is the country’s first polymer note that was introduced on 13th September and the £10 note is scheduled for release in 2017.
