Indian Celebrates Engineers’ Day

India produces more than 20 lakh engineers per year. Ranging from computer science to civil, all of them come together on 15th September to celebrate this special day.Engineers’ day is celebrated in India in the memory of M. Visvesvaraya who is considered one of the best engineers that India has produced. His birthday is celebrated as Engineer’s Day.
Also known as Sir MV, Mr. Vivasvaraya was an eminent engineer, statesman as well as the Diwan of Mysore. Due to his outstanding contribution to the society, Government of India conferred 'Bharat Ratna'.
On his Birth Anniversary he is remembered for his unforgettable contribution to his field. Each year, Engineers' Day has a theme, and this year it is "Skill Development for Young Engineers to Reform the Core Sector: Vision 2025." It aims at Making India more sustainable.
India Post has issued a 15 naya paisa stamp on the Birth Centenary of Mr. Visvasvaraya which features his portrait on a red background. Further, a special cover is also issued on his 150th Birth Anniversary. Happy Engineers’ Day!
