The Numismatic Guaranty Corporation would be giving away $10,000 to the artist who creates the winning design for the 2018 Breast Cancer Awareness Commemorative Coins. The winner would have to hand-sign the NGC label to proclaim the amount which is double the money that would be offered by the U.S. Mint. The contest was initiated by the U.S. Mint on 1st August and 18+ U.S. citizens were asked to come up with the new design concepts for the obverse and reverse of the coin. The designs should symbolize the fight against breast cancer. The winner’s initials will also be inscribed on the coin.
The NGC has joined the campaign and is trying to promote the hobby by offering the prize money. As per a new Act that was issued by the U.S. government, the 2018-dated commemoratives would include 50,000 $5 pink gold coins, 400,000 silver dollars and 750,000 clad half dollars.
