A lovely 1934-D Peace dollar Graded MS-65 CAC, with amazing rainbow coloured toning was sold at $7,975 on 21st August. The coin belonged to a 20 plus-year-old collection put together by a numismatist named Dale.

Gold/green/orange colour toning can be seen along the rims on the obverse. The reverse has indigo, amethyst, sunset tones along with un-toned sections to create a tapestry-like surface texture. Such kind of toning is very rare to find on Peace Dollars or they generally bear unattractive colours. A normal MS-65 example without toning has a value of $1,200. Whereas this particular coin has a value almost equal to an MS-66 graded coin of the same kind.
