National Park Service in the U.S would be celebrating its 100th Anniversary and a special campaign called ‘find your park” was introduced in April to inspire people to support and get involved.

Three limited-edition coins have also been issued including a five-dollar gold coin, a silver dollar and a half dollar clad coin with images of park features and the special arrowhead logo. Profits earned out of the sale of these coins would be donated to the new park projects.

The first national park, Yellowstone National Park was created in 1872 with an intention to preserve wildlife and the Indian civilization. President Theodore Roosevelt created five national parks from 1902-1906: Crater Lake National Park in Oregon, Wind Cave National Park in South Dakota, Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado and the Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Oklahoma. The Antiquities Act was signed by him on 8th June 1906 when the sites were declared as historic landmarks. In 1916, the President Woodrow Wilson created the National Park Service.
