Government Wins 1933 Gold Double Eagle Case
2016-08-18 Thu
After a long wait, the 10 extremely rare 1933 Saint-Gaudens double eagle coins would go back in the hands of the Government from that of the Langbord family. The United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in Philadelphia declared results in favour of the federal government. The Langbords are descendants of Israel Switt, a Philadelphia jeweller who had admitted to have sold the coins to other dealers and collectors. To know more about the coins click here.
