A Hawksbill turtle called Taku is featured on a 2 dollars Fiji coin that was released in 2011. Completely plated with Ruthenium, which is a rare and precious metal belonging to the Platinum Group and partly with Pure Gold, this beautiful coin has a mintage limit of just 200 pieces. Ruthenium is inert to most other chemicals and was discovered by Baltic German scientist Karl Ernst Claus in 1844. The name Ruthenia was coined from the Latin word ‘Rus'.Latest News
