Malwa Sultan Mahmud Shah II's Silver Half Tanka

Mahmud Shah II, the last ruler of the Malwa Sultanate, ruled from AH 916 to 937 (1510–1531 CE). His reign is noted for efforts to maintain Malwa's independence against Bahadur Shah of Gujarat, who ultimately conquered Mandu in 1531, bringing an end to Mahmud Shah II's rule and annexing Malwa.Mahmud Shah II, during his reign, issued gold, silver, and copper coins in round and square shapes. These coins were issued in the denominations of Tanka and Falus.
He issued this half-tanka weighing 5.4g during this reign. The obverse reads Al-Wathiq bi'l-Malik al-Samad Abu'l Muzaffar Mahmud Shah. The reverse reads as Bin Nasir Shah al-Khalji al-Sultan Khallada Mulkahu.
