Namo Buddhaya!Buddha Purnima, also called Vesak or Buddha Jayanti, commemorates the day Buddha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya. This day serves as a reminder of Gautama Buddha's teachings, as he devoted his life to promoting messages of peace, enlightenment, and compassion.
Buddha Purnima is celebrated on the full moon day of Vaisakha, which occurs in April or May. The day is celebrated as the day of Buddha's enlightenment. After nearly eight years of intense ascetic practices, Gautama had become very frail. Followers of Buddha visit the holy shrines of Buddha, his birthplace and the Mahabodhi tree.
