Madras Presidency or Madras Provinces was a British administrative division that encompassed much of southern India.A Gold two Pagoda weighing 5.19g, from the Madras Presidency was auctioned for INR 215000 in Mumbai on May 5, 2024.
The obverse features Gopuram enclosed in a circle, 9 stars on each side, Value 'TWO PAGODA' written around within a beaded border. The reverse features Lord Vishnu in centre surrounded by granulated dots, values in Tamil & Telugu on a ribbon around.
