Taj-ud-Din Firuz Shah was the ruler of the Bahamani Sultanate. He sat on the throne of the Bahamani Sultanate in 1379 CE and ruled it until 1422 CE. After sitting on the throne of the Bahamani Sultanate, he expanded his kingdom and even succeeded in conquering the Raichur Doab from the Vijaynagara kingdoms.This silver tanka, was issued by Taj-ud-Din Firuz Shah during his rule in Bahamani Sultanate. The weight of this silver tanka is 10.85g, minted in Hadrat Ahsanabad. The obverse of this coin depicts the Persian legend, ‘Taj al-Dunya wa'l din Firoz shah al-sultan. The reverse side of this coin is inscribed as ‘Sultan Al-and wa'll zaman al-within bi-ta'yid al-Rahman Abul Muzaffar’.
