Gold Double Mohur of Durrani Kingdom Sold for INR 13,50,000

The Durrani Empire was founded at Kandahar by Ahmad Shah Durrani in 1747. They were the Pashtun of the Afghan capital Kabul, which is usually bilingual in Pashto and Dari Persian. The kingdom is also called the Sadozai Kingdom or Afghan Empire. During the medieval period, the Durranis were one of the largest states, including modern Afghanistan, Pakistan, North-Eastern Iran, and Western India.This gold double mohur, issued by Mahmud Shah, was minted in Bahawalpur, weighs around 22.15g. This coin issued in the Hijri year 1217, in the 1st regnal year of Mahmud Shah. The obverse side of this coin is inscribed as 'Sikka bar zar zad tawafiq Ilah, Khushru giti sitan Mahmud Shah', and the Hijri year1217. The reverse side of this coin is inscribed as 'Manus Maimanat -e- sanah 1 julus zarb Bahawalpur'.
