The Battle of Salamis was the naval battle between Greek and Persian forces in the Saronic Gulf, Greece in September 480 BCE. It was one of the major battles that marked the turning point of Europe's history.The Battle of Salamis was marked as a victory for Greece. It was one of the most significant military victories in antiquity. After this battle the Persian, did not attempt to conquer the Greek mainland.
