Ikhtiyar al-Din Ghazi Shah Silver Tanka Listed For INR 60,000

Ikhtiyaar Al-Din Ghazi Shah was the ruler of Bengal Sultanate. He sat on the throne of the Bengal Sultanate in 1349 CE and ruled it until 1352 CE. He sat on the throne of the Bengal Sultanate after Fakhruddin Mubarak Shah.

The Bengal Sultanate was the Islamic Kingdom established in Bengal during the 14th Century in the Indian subcontinent on the coast of the Bay of Bengal. It was the first independent unified Bengal Kingdom under Muslim rule.

This silver tanka was issued by Ikhtiyar Al Dib Ghazi during his rule in Bengal Sultanate. He issued this coin in the Hijri Year 751, from the mint Hadrat Jalal Sunargaon. The obverse side of this silver tanka is inscribed as al-Sultan al'AzamIkhtiyar al-Dunyawa (al-Din) Abu al-MuzaffarGhazisha. The reverse side of this silver tanka is inscribed as Yameen al-KhilafatNasir Amir al-Mumineen; mint-name and date in words in the margin.
