Charles Freer Andrews was an Anglican priest, Christian missionary, educator, social reformer, and activist for Indian Independence. He was associated with Mahatma Gandhi and Rabindranath Tagore. He was the person who convinces Mahatma Gandhi to return back to India for South Africa. During those days, Mahatma Gandhi was a leading light in the Indian civil rights struggle in South Africa.Charles Freer Andrews was involved in Christian Social Union since university. He got attracted to struggle for justice throughout British Empire, especially in India. He worked closely with Mahatma Gandhi and also shared a special bond with Mahatma Gandhi.
