Jodhpur Fort, Mehrangarh Commemorative Stamp

Mehrangarh Fort was constructed in 1459 by Rajput ruler Rao Jodha. It is located, in Jodhpur, in the Indian States of Rajasthan. It is one of the largest, formidable, and magnificent forts of Rajasthan.This fort covers 1200 acres (486 hectares), this complex structure; is located on a hilltop around 122 meters above the surrounding plain. One can see the panoramic view of the Jodhpur city from this fort, which seems like a blue carpet laid at the foot of a hill.
There are seven gates used to enter in Mehrangarh fort. These seven gates; are made by seven different rulers, built in honor of the victory over the Bikaner and Jaipur armies.
