Silver Rupee of Independent Kingdom Tripura

Tripura was one of the largest kingdoms of Twipra people situated in the North-eastern part of India. It shares its border with north, west, and south with Bangladesh, from the east with Mizoram, and from the northeast with the state of Assam.The Twipra were the original inhabitants of the Twipra kingdom in North-East India and Bangladesh. It was ruled by the Tripuri people from the Manikya dynasty. They had ruled the Tripuri Kingdom for more than 2000 years until this kingdom joined the Indian Union in 1949 CE.
This silver rupee that weighs around 11.45g was issued by King Vir Vikrama Kishore Manikya Deva of Tripura Kingdom. The obverse of this coin depicts the bust of the king facing towards the right. The reverse of this coin depicts Lion rampant to left.
