Ghiyath Al-Din Bahadur Shah was the ruler of the Bengal Sultanate. He ruled the Bengal Sultanate successfully for two years from 1322 CE until 1324 CE. In the year 1324, he lost the battle and was captured, and was taken to Delhi as a prisoner. Later, in the year he was released by Muhammad Bin Tughluq, the son of Ghiyath Al-Din Tughluq. After releasing him from the prisoner Muhammad Bin Tughluq made him a governor of East Bengal in Sunargaon.

Ghiayas Al-Din Bahadur Shah issued coins in gold and silver. Silver tankas issued by him are similar to the preceding issue from Bengal. Gold tankas issued by him are a contemporary issue of Muhammad Bin Tughluq.

This silver fraction that weighs around 0.51g was issued by Ghiyath Al-Din Bahadur Shah during his rule in Bengal Sultanate. The obverse of this coin is inscribed as ‘Adl’. The reverse of this coin is inscribed as ‘Ghiyath’.
