Copper Unit of Kushan King Vasudeva I

Vasudeva was the king of the Kushan Empire, he ruled Kushan Empire between 191 CE and 232 CE. He ruled the part of northern India and Central Asia. After sitting on the throne of the Kushan Empire he had a deal with the rise of Sasanians and the first incursions of the Kushano-Sasanians in the northwest of his territory.This copper unit which weighs around 8.92g was issued by king Vasudeva I during his rule in Kushan Empire. The obverse of this coin depicts ‘King nimbate standing left, holding a trident to right, making an offering at an altar to left with legend around’. The reverse of this coin depicts ‘Shiva standing facing before Nandi bull, holding a trident in right and noose in left, tamgha in the upper right field’.
