On this day in the year 2018, India beat Australia by 8; wickets and won ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. India won U-19 World Cup four times, the first world cups them; won against Sri-Lanka in 2000. The second world cup they won against South Africa in 2008, and then, in the year 2012 and 2018 against Australia. India finished as tournament as runners-up in 2006 and 2016. Australia won the world cup three times, Pakistan two times, and Bangladesh, England, South Africa, and the West Indies once.
The 2018 under-19 match; was held in New Zealand; both India and Australia; were playing their final at Mount Maunganui on February 3, 2018. India defeated Australia, by 8 wickets with Manjot Kalra scoring a match-winning 101* under the captaincy of Prithvi Shaw. The Man of the match was awarded to Manjot Kalra while, player of the tournament; was awarded to Shubman Gill. India now holds the most wins record in the Under-19 World Cup.
