John Fitzgerald Kennedy was the 35th president of the United States of America. He served the United States as a president from January 1951 until his assassination in November 1963. John Fitzgerald Kennedy was the youngest man to get elected as president of the United States of America and the first Roman Catholic to hold presidential office. After getting elected as a president of the United States of America, he faced several foreign crises, particularly in Berlin and Cuba, but he managed to win the presidential election because of Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty and the Alliance for Progress.
John Fitzgerald Kennedy completed his graduation from Harvard University in 1940. He had also played an active part in WWII; in WWII, he was commended as a series of PT boats in the Pacific theatre and also earned a Navy and Marine Corps Medal for his service. The Gambia has issued this postal stamp to honour him in the year 2011.
