Andrew Johnson was born into a poor family, in North Carolina in 1808. He started his career as a tailor who; later turns into a Politician. After becoming president of the United States of America; he had served as Tennessee Legislature and U.S Congress later, he had also served as governor of Tennessee.

The presidentship of Andrew Johnson began; as a period of Reconstruction; in the South, after the Confederacy was defeated and restored to the Union.
