Honduras issued a stamp of King George V. King George V was king of British dominions and Emperor of India from 6th May 1910 till his death in 1936. He also served in the Royal Navy until his brother died in 1892. He was the grandson of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert and the second son of Edward VII and Alexandra of Denmark.

He witnessed the Russian revolution, Fascism, Irish republicanism, First World War and movement for India’s independence. He became the first monarch of the House of Windsor, which he renamed from House of Saxe- Coburg and Gotha due to the anti-German public sentiment.

He was born on 3rd June 1865 in Marlborough House at Westminster, Middlesex. He got married to Mary of Teck.

In his earliest reign period, he faced a constitutional crisis. He supported troops in World War and often visited injured soldiers in hospitals. He developed good relationships with the Labour Party and unions during the economic depression of the 1930s.
