In the year 2010, the United States of America started the Quarter Dollar program under which it issued 56 quarter dollars coin. All the coins issued under the Quarter Dollar program features national parks and other national sites as part of the United States Mint America the Beautiful Quarters Program.

The United States of America issued this quarter dollar with the theme of the Quarter Dollar Program of the United States of America in the year 2010. The Grand Canyon is a steep-sided canyon carved by the Colorado River in Arizona, United States. The Grand Canyon is around 446 km long and around 28 km wide; it has a depth of around 1857m. The Grand Canyon; was first established as a national site on February 20, 1893.
