2020-10-19 Mon
Singapore sets record for its widest postage stamp. A new stamp from Singapore is the country’s widest stamp. Sing Post or Singapore Post issued a special stamp measuring 6.4 inches which is the widest postage stamp issues in Singapore’s Postal history. This 2 Dollars stamp showing the Marina Bay Central Business District is one of a set of two. The other stamp, a 1.40 Dollars denomination, depicts a residential estate area called the Housing and Development Board flats. While this new stamp is Singapore’s widest, it isn’t the world record holder.
A 6.7 inches stamp issued by Thailand in 2016 holds that record. This 9-baht stamp marks the 70th anniversary of the accession to the throne of King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
