Not so long ago, PM Narendra Modi issued a new Rs 75 commemorative coin on the occasion of 75th anniversary of FAO – Food and Agriculture Organisation. The coin was released to mark the long-standing relation of India with the Food and Agriculture Organisation. The journey of FAO in making the vulnerable classes and masses stronger, economically and nutritionally, has been unparalleled. India has had a historic association with FAO.

World Food Day is celebrated on October 16 every year. This global event endeavours to raise awareness on depleting food resources and highlights the need to bring equal nutrition to all. This year's World Food Day is of great importance as the world is grappling with disturbing food systems in the wake of Coronavirus pandemic. The day also marks the 75th anniversary of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), which was established by the United Nations in the year 1945.

Design of the coin is somewhat similar to the early coin in this series. The obverse of the coin depicts Ashoka Lion Capitol with denomination below. The reverse of the coin depicts a Floating lotus flower below the sun, flanked by wheat grains. The slogan “Sahi Poshan, Desh Roshan” is at the bottom.
