To celebrate the 65th year since HM Queen Elizabeth II succeeded to the British Throne, Royal Mint issued a new series of gold and silver coins. The Queen has surpassed the long-serving British sovereign Queen Victoria and became the longest-reigning monarch in world history.
The above-shown coin is 10 pounds silver coin was issued in 2015, all the three coins of this series illustrate the same design with a different denomination. It was designed by Gregory Cameron. The obverse of this coin depicts the fifth effigy of HM Queen Elizabeth II designed by Jody Clack with the legend ‘Elizabeth II.D.G.REG.F.D’ with denomination around it.
The reverse of these coins features the royal crest or coat of arms with a crown of St Edward on the top with an ornamented frame surrounded with oak and olive garland. The number 65 is placed below the crest and the commemorative inscription ‘HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN” S SAPPHIRE JUBILEE 1952 to 2017’ within the rim.
