Vijayanagar was one of the powerful kingdoms in the South during the medieval period. Even today, the Vijaynagar Empire remembered for its great administration and massive architecture. It was founded by two brothers, Harihara and Bukka, on the south bank of the River Tungabhadra in 1336 AD.Achyuta Deva Raya was the king of Vijaynagar Kingdom; he was the younger brother of Krishna Deva Raya, whom he succeeded in 1529. At the time when Achyuta Deva Raya sat on the throne of the Vijaynagar Kingdom, the Vijaynagar kingdom started decaying. The peace and prosperity under which were there under the king Krishnadeva Raya were coming to an end under the rule of Achyuta Deva Raya.
