From 9thto 22nd January 2020 Lausanne became the Olympic city. It hosted the third Winter Youth Olympics, the second-biggest winter multisport event. To mark this epic occasion Swiss post released a special Lausanne 2020 stamp.

The competition was in 16 disciplines that happened in different cities of Switzerland and France but the main junction was Lausanne. It was the place where award and closing ceremonies were held. The stamp dedicated to this winter Olympics was designed by Aurel Marki in blue and pink depicting the Olympic village of Lausanne where 1,700 athletes lived under the same roof.
