Gold Half- Manuel of Indo-Portuguese Sold For INR 2,85,000

This gold-half-Manuel issued by king Manuel of Indo-Portuguese was sold for INR 2,85,000 in an auction of Todywalla held in Mumbai on 30th August 2020. King Manuel sat on the throne in the year 1495 CE and ruled it till 1521 CE.The obverse side of these coins depicts a large crown with a complete round ring of the crown, MEA below, a pellet within the ring of the crown. The reverse side of this coin depicts the Armillary sphere set on a base. This was the first gold coins issued for Goa.
