She opened the first Montessori school—the Casa Dei Bambini, or Children’s House—in Rome on January 6, 1907.
There are now thousands of Montessori schools in countries worldwide. The Montessori system is based on the belief in the creative potential of children, and their drive to learn, which are still implemented in Montessori schools all over the globe.

Similarly, a 2 Euro coin has been issued in the year 2020 to commemorate the 150th birth Anniversary of the Italian educator.
