Anguilla’s Summer Festival Stamps

The Anguilla Summer Festival is an annual cultural event people not just from the Caribbean but also from all over the World come to enjoy food, music, boat racing, pageantry, and feting. The festival is held annually around the first Monday in August. It encompasses all summer events such as boat racing, pageantry, and feting.

Summer Festival is taking place from the last 25 years. The main objective of the festival is to revive the traditional art forms and merge it with a modern perspective. The events feature musical spectaculars, kiddies’ parade and a grand parade of troupes, J’ouvert, Miss Anguilla Pageant and bathing suit competition, Prince & Princess Pageant Jr. & Senior calypso Ms. Talented Teen, International Soca and Reggae Night and the Leeward Islands Calypso Monarch competition.

Anguilla Island is a British overseas territory in the Caribbean. The total area of the island is 91 square kilometers.

The series of stamps and miniature sheets were issued by Anguilla on 2nd August 2016 in order to celebrate the Summer Festival.
