Umaid Singh also spelled as Umed Singh; he was the Maharaja of Princely State Jodhpur. He ruled Jodphur from 1918 CE until his death.
Umaid Singh was the son of Maharaja Sir Sardar Singh. He succeeded his elder brother Maharaja Sir Sumair Singh upon his death in the year 1918. During his rule, Sir Umaid Singh reorganized Jodhpur State Forces and the judicial department. He also introduces a scheme for extending primary education, revised the land revenue settlement, and also established state pension and Provident Fund for state employees.
